Sgt. Pepper
The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was released on this day, June 1, 1967. I'm listening to it right now and track 6 "She's Leaving Home" is playing. Bye, bye.
The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band" was streaming through the airwaves for several days in Bethel, Connecticut when I was born in June of 1967. In my very early years, I was influenced by the Sunday comics, Dr. Seuss, and Saturday Morning cartoons--bold, colorful,two-dimensional art with humor. Pop culture, the Cold War, and alternative music shaped and reflected my attitude and outlook of the world. After graduating from the University of South Florida and studying art history at Ealing College in London, I moved to New York City in 1990. I studied acting, formed two alternative rock bands, and painted, while working in the mainstream world of network television and book publishing. The pursuit of truth, the urgency to express a thought, observation, or idea, and the satisfaction of blowing my own mind are the drive behind the artwork. I relocated to Ithaca, New York in 2007.
